On September 17
at 11 a.m., Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his birthday by opening the
first phase of the India International Convention and Expo Center, better known
as "Yashobhoomi," in Dwarka, New Delhi. The Yashobhoomi convention
center, which was built for about Rs 5,400 crore and covers a project area of
more than 8.9 lakh square meters, has a total seating capacity of more than
11,000 delegates and includes 15 convention rooms, a grand ballroom, and 13
meeting rooms.
One of the largest exhibition halls in the world will be available at Yashobhoomi. These exhibit halls cover a total area of 1.07 million square meters. These spaces will be used to hold trade shows, exhibits, and corporate gatherings.
There are seating arrangements inside the main
auditorium for 6,000 people. The motorized seating system enables the floor to
be either flat or tiered in the manner of an auditorium. Wooden floors and
acoustic wall panels give the space a quality finish.
A little over
2,500 people can be accommodated in the Grand Ballroom, which has a petal
ceiling. For about 500 visitors, there is extra space in the expanded open
area. The 13 conference rooms, which are dispersed across eight floors, will be
used for various meetings.
The Delhi Airport Metro Express line of
the Delhi Metro will be connected to the massive convention center by the
government.
In a statement
released on Saturday, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that
starting on Sunday, the Airport Express Line would run at a whopping 120
kilometers per hour (KMPH).
"This historic increase in speed of India's fastest Metro corridor gradually from 90 KMPH to 120 KMPH has been made possible by meticulous planning and time-bound implementation by DMRC's engineers in consultation with a number of other government agencies and domain experts," said the DMRC in a statement.
All Delhi Metro
lines are soon to be expected to operate at these speeds, making Delhi's Metro
the quickest in the nationPrime Minister Modi revealed his administration's
ambitious "PM Vishwakarma" program, which is intended to promote
traditional craftspeople and other artisans, after breaking the ribbon on
YashoBhoomi and the extension of the Delhi metro airport line.
The majority of
those employed in these traditional occupations are from Other Backward
Classes, hence the BJP's outreach to this politically significant group is also
shown in the Rs 13,000 crore scheme.
The PM
Vishwakarma scheme will enable the government to grant loans up to Rs 3 lakh
without any (bank) guarantees, according to PM Modi, who spoke at the occasion.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Under the PM
Vishwakarma scheme, the government will provide up to Rs 3 lakh in loan without
any (bank) guarantee." Additionally, it has been made sure that the
interest rate is relatively low. The government has decided to offer the
Vishwakarma partners a Rs. 1 lakh loan at first, and once it is repaid, another
Rs. 2 lakh loan.
"Today the nation has got the International
Exhibition Center YashoBhoomi," Prime Minister Modi stated at the
introduction of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. The labor that has been done here
shows the penances of my Vishwakarma brothers. I proclaim this center to all
Vishwakarmas in the country.
"The Vishwakarmas will
benefit from this. This will serve as a bustling hub for promoting Indian
handicrafts and art internationally. This will significantly contribute to the
globalization of local goods. Our Vishwakarma are crucial to society, much as
the spine is to our bodies. Without them, daily existence is inconceivable, he
continued.
With a project area of more
than 8.9 lakh square meters and a total built-up area of more than 1.8 lakh
square meters, YashoBhoomi would be one of the greatest MICE (Meetings,
Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities in the world.
The main auditorium, a ballroom,
and 13 meeting rooms are among the 15 convention rooms in the more than 73,000
square meter convention center, which can accommodate 11,000 attendees in all.
THE
AUDITORIUM
There are approximately 6,000
seats in the main auditorium of the conference facility, which also serves as
the plenary hall. It boasts advanced automatic seating technology that allows
for various seating configurations.
THE
BALLROOM
The ballroom can accommodate
up to 2,500 guests inside and 500 more outside. It is distinguished by its
unusual petal canopy. There are 13 conference rooms spread across eight floors
that can accommodate a range of meetings of different sizes.
In addition to these features,
YashoBhoomi has one of the biggest exhibition halls in the world, measuring
more than 1.07 lakh square meters. These rooms, which are connected to a
stunning lobby area, will be used for exhibits, trade displays, and business
functions. Numerous support spaces, including media rooms, VVIP lounges,
cloakrooms, a visitor information center, and ticketing desks, are located in
the foyer.
